Our story
Our background:
Artkhana came into our lives at the time of the year when the world was facing crisis, in the year 2020. Our keen interest on jewelry market grew with time while people around us was fighting to sell multiple common products we aimed at creating some never seen before designs, exclusively unique and started showcasing them in our page. Unknowingly, they gained so much attention from people all over India we started taking it seriously and did meticulous research on jewelry making equipments.
We soon started building our own workshop where we begin to craft simple silver jewellery motifs that were so simple that people never thought of it like a simple shiuli flower or a bird flying. We often tend to ignore the simple things around us that makes life so beautiful and pleasant. This simple motifs gained so much response we had to level up our skills and through different learnings and experiences we focused on building up a unit where we discuss new simple ideas, effortless styling up different types of jewelry and giving the best quality, top notched finished unique products.
All our jewelry are handcrafted in 925 silver bearing our own brand's logo including BIS hallmark. Through our work over the years we are able to provide salary wages to quite a number of artisan's family working for us. In this time period of 3-4 years our jewelry has been able to make people stand out of the crowd and it only improves as we grow and learn with time.
The journey from complete ignorance in the jewelry sector to establishing a setup in just 1.5 years exemplifies the power of destiny.
With a background in scientific research, focusing on microorganisms and biotechnology, and participating in a doctoral research program, this path was unforeseen.
Creating something from scratch appeared impossible, yet this individual guy, Sourav demonstrated an innate affinity with jewelry making, as if driven by an inherent passion and previous birth life connection with jewelry making.
Through sheer determination, he acquired an astonishing amount of knowledge in this field without any course or training. And people often tend to ask us how do we learn this?
Looking back, we give credit for our modest success to unshakeable commitment, criticism, few pain and lots of unexplainable wounds.
The process of crafting jewelry pieces, especially those imbued with sentimental value, evokes strong emotions and nostalgia, reminding our unique journey and leaving us unbelievable at our accomplishments. We still are in the process of learning and hope to continue this until we don’t care whether anyone claps for us or not. 🤍
About the founders:
Rajashree, who is nearing completion of her doctoral degree in biological sciences, and Sourav, a master degree holder in microbiology have converged to forge an innovative new realm, fueled by their collective passion and unified vision.
